Associate Professor of Microbiology (SUNY Adirondack) Holly Ahern will look at the potential consequences of tick/human interactions, with a focus on Lyme disease — the most common tick-borne illness and one that is associated with long term chronic illness if not correctly diagnosed and treated. Since 2020, the has incubated collaborative projects that link regional community efforts with ÑÇÉ«ÊÓÆµ»ÆÉ«appÏÂÔØ students, faculty, and staff.‌ On the occasion of the sunsetting of the Andrew W. Mellon foundation grant that launched the Initiative, all are in invited to dive into some of the projects brought to campus by MDOCS' inspiring community partners.
